    it looks ok as for the pitting not sure how you can remove it without damage to blade.

    You could improve the look of the blade with Semi-chrome polish, but it will never be perfect.

    I believe that the AWS Alcoso logo puts the blade manufacture about 1941 or latter, cheers Paul
