Default German Gravity Knife from the 5te Fallschirmjäger Division!

Hello, this is my newest addition to my collection.

It´s a German Gravity Knife from the 5te Fallschirmjäger Division. It was found in an old house in Boevange here in Luxembourg. The soldier scratched the german eagle and his division during the battle of bulge in it.
The manufacturer of this knife made only knifes for the Fallschirmjäger during WW2. After the war, they stopped the production!
Please correct me if I´m wrong and give me your opinion!

    Greetings from Luxembourg!

Thats a real gem. Congats Luxembourg. I have been looking for one in a fair price for a long time. This is really special though.
Looking for the photo albums of Leutnant Emil Freitag, 3. / G.R. 377

Never seen one personalised like this. Very nice

Has the personalization been cleaned somehow? It's a genuine gravity knife, but the etchings on the handle look Very much too new. Looking in the lines, there seems to be no trace of any handling,dirt,staining-nothing. Although the rest of the grip panels are heavily aged and obviously so.

There appears to be red coloured 'stain' in the recesses of the
engraving. As well, the grip panels do not match - the panel
that is carved seems to have been cleaned, as William
    suggested above.

Is the maker 'F. Dick' ? If it is original, I wouldn't pay any
more than the cost of a standard knife without
    the 'personalisation'.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

No it isn't red, that's because of the quality of the photo. It can be possible that the knife is cleaned by someone. I don't know the makers name, because it is the manufacturer who only stamped numbers on the edge?

There is an Arrow logo on the crossguard/ferrule that looks
    like the "F. Dick" trademark.

Also of note, is that the engraving was done with a power
tool - like a Dremel - which leads me to think it was done
rather recently. Look at the pins that hold the grips on.
The engraved side are polished and shiny, while the
other side remains in it's original state.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

The etching on the wood looks recent as the oils from the hand have not darkened it over the years. Wood naturally cures itself over the years and should have darkened in 70 yrs time,, compared to some scratching seen under the eagle tail. Regards Larry

Mh all I can say is that it comes from an old house where they were stationed in WW2 and from a well trusted collector. But I understand your doubts and really appreciate your opinion and help. Let's see what other members think about it.

    Greetings
