Just got this Luft dagger today. Pretty decent. I've definitely had worse! Only major issue is the missing ring at the bottom of the grip. Is there a name for these rings so I can try to find one online?

The Portepee was just hanging on there and wasn't tied so I did a pathetic attempt at putting it on. I wish there was a video tutorial to correctly attach these portepees. I can't ever do it right. The hangers are in exceptional condition.

I was told this one was taken from a POW that the seller's grandfather was responsible for guarding in Europe just before the end of the war. No way to know for sure.

Its possible the POW took the ferrule ring off himself and squeezed the ring wider open to fit it on his finger as a momento of his Luft service. Hard to prove that story..but sounds nice Other than the missing ferrule rind..overall the dagger is in decent condition which exhibits the dual twisted wire. I have seen both the dual twisted wire and the commonly seen aluminum springy wire on these grips. Hard to say if this grip belongs or not. Still I nice find with portepee and hangers. Regards Larry
