Im seeing 2 different crossguards ..the one the seller sent to you does not even come close in the oak leaf relief on the top guard.
The difference being..the one you posted the oak leaf relief is not recessed as ...is what the seller just sent to you ...which it IS recessed.
Tell me what Im looking at . Which dagger exactly are you seeking ?
If your looking to purchase the one in the first photo I posted..I need top of guard photos of that one also.
The seller sent photo is WKC generic..which is commonly used by some producers.

Larry, i was planning to buy the herder, the one i started this thread with, the other one i just posted to compare when we discussed grip colors. and is a non maker marked blade.
......so what Im seeing is a Herder dagger with WKC generic fittings ( Pommel and crossguard )
The dagger is authentic and period. The scabbard may have been added later. Just my thoughts

ok thanks Larry so than its not need to be a parts dagger? if Herder used generic WKC pommel and crossguards. have i understand this rigth?
I cant say further if it was assembled that way during the period ( The dagger only ) ..or post war. Yet WKC was a large distributor of fittings to other producers.
Yes that possibility exists.
Regards Larry
