The eagle proof is 5, looks like a Krieghoff type eagle on the base of the marlin spike, makers name and logo on blade, release spring lever is missing .

thanks guys,my relative,at 1 point helped process prisoners of war,captured a few,and became friendly with some of their family members,who gave him some items, others he may have taken from the pow"s,and others he picked up while routing out Germans in house to house battles,etc..Latter after the war ended, he traded with other gi"s,various souveeiners,and did not leave Germany till mid,1946.He was able to visit Hitlers bunker,on several occasions, by use of a special foldout pass,which I have in {English,Russian,French,}he always made sure the Russian guards got cigarettes and liquor.end of my rant.
