Here is a rarity..and no this does not belong to me..Only wish it did...these photos are from Tom Wittmans site..as the link will disapear once that dagger is bought.
We do see NSFK daggers sometimes with the single hanger..but a rare sight to be seen is one with a 3 pc Hanger. Below are a few photos..that are from the SMF Producer.

Hi Ger..I can surmise that it would fit well together as the hanger with the clip is commonly seen on some NSFK daggers that are found..the snap clip fits the criteria of a SA and SS hanger. Honestly this is a first to see one of these..but I dont see why not ...that it should belong to it. That snap clip is the same as the others and also was made to snap onto a "D" ring at some point.
When SA and SS daggers are fist issued..the come with the whole 3pc hanging rig......some SA or SS men IMO elected to toss away the little retaining loop..as what we see mainly found presently with SA daggers having the single hanger without the "D" ring belt and retainer loop. ....yet some are found with a compltete rig..and others are found with 2 pcs.
Most period photos show and SA dagger in wear..at an angle without the retaining loop..but rare occurrence photos to show a 3 pc rig...and a 3pc rig with a retainer loop unsnapped .
Seen below are 2 photos one of a Kneeling SA/ NSKK mann.....with a vertical position dagger...
and an SA Highleader with a very visible ..unsnapped retaining loop.
So IMO..yes why not..the snap clip on the NSFK conforms to other political hanging rigs. Regards Larry
