    hello LP,

To my mind this is an original WW2 Luger that was reissued to the German Democratic Republic Police force (VoPo) in the fifties or so. The East Germans were not into originality, but only functionality. I know they fitted new plastic grip plates and generaly gave the arms a rather dull black finish. I think it is logical that these pistols were disassembled and put together again, regardless of serial numbers, makes etc.

Nice to own one though! Not possible here in Holland!

    Cheers,
    Emile

The plastic grips on this pistol look like a original for bfy 41 , 42 , and this pistol is not VOPO , probably just put together by some gunsmith . Croatia was at war from 1991-1995 , due to the shortage of weapons people have used and repaired everything they could find even the old weapons from the WWI and WWII.

On this luger barrel looks original , what is inside?

I stand corrected. No VoPo. Indeed different plastic grips, no roundel.

Thank you all for your opinions.
I did not know this detail about DDR police,so I learned something along the way.
What I know about this gun is that it is appropriated as a war trophy in the battles that were fought near the city of Rijeka on the move to Trieste in the spring of 1945.
Since then the owner has not changed.
