The numbers are the weapon serial number - the main number has four digits ie 1234. The last two digits of this number are repeated on a number of the component parts ie 34.
If the numbers are different then the pistol has been built from a series of odd parts.
Originally the pistol would have been issued with two magazines also marked with the serial number.
