Nahkampfspange made by Rudolf Souval

Hello guys,

I wanted to share my nahkampfspange marked R.S. I think it is a good one except for the clasp and that there are no marks of how the backplate was attached. My thoughts are that there never has been one in there at all. And ofcourse i am always glad to hear your opinions aswell

Hello,
the NKS clasp you show have the classic post war fittings soldered to it so my assumption is that it is a post '45 piece..
In a lot of cases Souval never even bothered attempting to fit a backplate.
This one looks as though it may have had the long vertical crimps holding the backplate in that has fallen out in time

Agreed, a postwar Souval made award. The "base" might be from wartime stock, but the clasp is considered to be postwar assembled nonetheless.
