Steve i can't help you with the 3 Ksz marking, but the liner is usually ink stamped on the inside of the liner tongues, it has the date and maker. The shell maker stamp should be dead centre in the dome!...

Hi Gunny,
As previously mentioned... there are no date stamps on the dome, and the only information on the liner is the helmet size of 57. There is simply nothing anywhere on it!
Cheers,
Steve.

Hi James,
Nice helmets you have, and a good comparison to my example. As far as I am aware the chin cups were deliberately discarded by troops because they found it uncomfy to wear. The helmets were initially used by NVA motorcyclists and specialist troops from the 1960's onwards - before finally being adopted for use by Luftsturmregiment 40 in the early 1980's. Prior to this the regiment used a plastic-type of helmet. I'm not being a smart-arse, I didn't know anything about these helmets until last week when I did some digging around for information!
Cheers,
Steve.
