First DDR items
My first DDR items. They're a dolly and memorial scarf given to soldier either when they completed their training or service in the Nationale Volksarmee. The dolly just has the DDR's national emblem while the memorial scarf has the DDR's national emblem alongside images of soldiers performing various tasks, and images of tanks and artillery.

The only DDR piece I had was a makarov. I gave it to a nephew for it was in superior condition. He doesn't shoot so I know it will be kept in pristine shape. I also gave him a minty 1939 Russian Mosin to accompany it.
Hello Wally, and welcome to the delights and disappointments of DDR collecting. The delights are all those nice tasty pre-1980 pieces of militaria that can still be found at quite reasonable prices. And the disappointments are those very early bits that you will wish you saw when they were still at affordable prices!

Nothing like getting these items after the Berlin Wall came down..
Nice to see some of these items..
They are still affordable now, but it will only grow in value in the years to come..
