    At least they changed the helmet because they thought the older type would make them look too much TR, but guess where the design for the helmet came from?

    If I remember correctly, it was a design that Hitler did not like, as it did not portray the German soldier correctly. So the big guys at the top thought, if Hitler did not like it, we can take it!

    Nice cap HPL unless I am mistaken it is a Infantry officers peaked cap to the Motorised Rifles officer status is denoted by cap badge and the braided chin strap, the branch of service is identified by the white piping (Waffenfarbe) around the brim and hat band.

    Nice cap HPL and nice helmet Nuno! That is the cap I was talking about earlier about how often they can be seen for sale, often for very cheap! Still nice collectables.

    A couple of things-leather AK/SKS sling dated May 'Mai' 1969 and East German made 9 x 18mm Makarov ammo box from the collection of a friend.
