NSKK insignia removed from a Brownshirt

I don't collect political insignia much, but these items liberated by a Canadian Veteran. Both items are uniform removed.



Note the paper RZM labels to the reverse of the collar tab and shoulder strap. The rank pips are silvered brass.

Also see the strands of brown cotton used to sew the strap to the shirt are still in place on the shoulder strap.

Only very early sets of political collar tabs had a RZM tag on both collar tabs. The tag was later discontinued with on the rank tab.

The tags are not particularly early. Tags on both patches occurred when the tabs were both supplied blank. The rank side will have a tag from the manufacturer and the unit side will have then have an RZM tag affixed with the embroidery firm's number. This according to 1938 RZM regulations.
