1938 Volkswagen Pin - Opinions Need

Hi Mates.,

I need your opinions about this "1938 Volkswagen Pin".
Typical: front reads "Grundsteinlegung Des Volkswagen Werks Mai 1938" and back is marked "GES GESCH".
But my doubts are about the "clamping system", not typical in this kind of badge. It's original or fake???

I do not believe this to be original, the quality looks rather crude and is pitted. Is this even an original design, I know that there are known original VW related badges which were made from bakelite.

I agree with Glenn - and as a VW guy as well I can tell you that the consensus on their forums too is that Bakelite is the ONLY material for a genuine badge - showing off a great utilitarian material as well as a great utilitarian car ( until Der Fuhrer railroaded the concept )

As far as I've ever heard or seen, these VW badges were never made in metal. I would pass.
