    Dear Bob

Thankyou for your kind appraisal and it would appear now, that this thread has developed into a quite extensive SA Tagungsabzeichen data base.

More to come and here is one in reference to SA Standarte 171 from 1934.

    Regards,

    David

Was the above meant to be fastened to the slits seen on uniforms for decorations and such?

    Dear Scout

I just do not know. This is a peculiar little badge which only measures 32 mm in height. The Tieste catalogues suggest that it is "common", however I think not and I have never seen one before. As far as the fastening device is concerned, this is a first for myself at least. I do not know if the badge was produced as such, or whether it is a pre 1945 or post 1945 modification. In any event, that over engineered fastening device certainly had the intention of making sure that the badge, irrespective as to what it was attached to, would never be lost!

    Regards,

    David
