David, I am always amazed at your extensive collection of SA's...any idea how many were produced?.............Dave H
Dear Dave
Recently I have been quite fortunate in securing quite a few SA-Tagungsabzeichen and so the collection grows.
A good question that you ask and the only answer I can give is - thousands. One day I will count the SA's shown in the Tieste catalogues and which must run in their thousands and then, add 20% to allow for those not documented.

David

That,s different David more of a badge than a "tinny" unusual fitting on the reverse, great design
though.

Hello Mametz
Long time no speak.
A fellow collector some while back loosely suggested that the strange twin prong fixing device seen here is not original to this badge and instead, is an ad hoc "belts and braces" modification effected by the owner and to enable secure attaching to a leather item.
A further suggestion that the pin started life with either a rectangular or round pin attachment by and marked Poellath etc.
In my opinion a great design and also, quite rare. For the latter though, not so according to Tieste.
Regards,
David
