A Dresden badge which I assume commemorates the absorbing of Der Stahlhelmbund into the SA ?
Assumption correct ??

I don't know the significance but what a super badge !
Nice one David, there are a few versions of this badge
same design but with a different place name. I have
ones for Dresden Leipzig Bautzen and Plauen, i think
there is also one for Chemnitz never saw this one though.
Noticed one on a website recently going for $245!

Thankyou for your comments Aldo and Mametz
I too like the design and it does make sense that there should be 5 variants by differing names, correlating with the 5 Brigades of Gruppe Leipzig (Dresden).
Talking about Leipzig - Brigade 35 (Leipzig).

David
I must admit that this is not one of my favourites.

A simple, extremely basic and non military or aggressive wooden badge and which is attributed to St. 244.
Not sure and please chime in if I am wrong, however I THINK that Standarte 244 was Annaberg, as part of Brigade 34 Chemnitz and within Gruppe Sachsen.

David
