Heinkel sounds reasonable, but this is their logo - unless they have 2 logos.

Does anybody know if this company made pins AFTER the war?

    Hi Schnellmann,

The stick pin has the logo of the tractor manufacturer 'Hanomag'.

This company designed and manufactured the famous Sdkfz.251 series of halftracks during the war. They are still extant today as 'Henschell-Hanomag AG'.

    Regards, Ned.

Thanks Ned! Do you think this is a war-time pin. I do, but maybe I am prejudiced.

    Hi Schnellmann,

Just done a bit more digging and found that the Hanomag co. history is more complicated than i first thought!

Firstly, it changed to Hanomag-Henschel, then to Hanomag-Rheinstahl and was eventually split, with the truck division going to Mercedes-Benz/Magirus and the tractor division to what is today Komatsu-Hanomag!

There have therefore been several different badge changes over the years. Some i've posted below. Your badge is for the Hanomag-Rheinstahl period which began in 1952. So i'm affraid it just misses the period of the war, but never mind, it's still a nice badge!

    Regards, Ned.
