I am gobsmacked ! There is me feeling happy to spot the odd NSB item at Duiven Militaria Market every now and then, when here I am able to see so much. Thank you guys for sharing!
Recently I bought the book "Zo zong de NSB", Liedcultuur van de NSB 1931-1945 by Gerard Groeneveld (ISBN 978 90 77503 66 9), to get some background information on the NSB songs in our mp3 collection. I would love to have the original grammophone records, but must admit at 70 Euros startprice at Duiven I was a bit too miserly.
I am reading "Voor Volk En Vaderland" (tien jaren van de nationaal-socialistische beweging der Nederlanden 14th December 1931-1941) at the moment. Borrowed it from a Dutch friend. Interesting, the book is slightly burned around the edge...obviously it was in a fire once and someone had "saved" it.
If you do wonder why the interest in the NSB, I only live about 5 kilometers away from the Dutch border
Liebe Grüße,
Beate
Great thread, I have always had an interest in the NSB history.
I have placed a short filmclip showing the NSB in Terborg marching,
just go to youtube and tap in my user name "kolberg45" and you will find it.
Cheers, Bill.
Great stuff--the definitive book (in English) on the Uniforms, Organisation, & History of the NSB has yet to be written (however, I am sure we will get another 20 volumes on Uniforms of the Wehrmacht in the meantime.)
BTW, I was watching Zwart Boek (Black Book), and thought they (as usual) had the Germans wearing Allgemeine SS uniforms, but to my surprise, when the guy turned around, it was a WA uniform!
