Gau Munich Commerative Badge 9th Nov. 1923
This badge was issued in 1933 to those who had participated in the unsuccessful uprising of the same date. The words "Und Ihr Habt Dock Gesiegt" on the scroll around the wreath. ( And Yet You Have Conquered ) is the same moto on the " Blood Order " which superceded it the following year.
The one pictured here is an unmarked one.

Nice badge Steve. There were two types of this badge one like yours and the other by Deschler. Note the differences in the 3's as well. These badges continued to be awarded after the introduction of the BO. These badges are very undervalued IMO.

I see the difference in the 3's. Like you I think these have been overlooked for a long time and since I don't have the spare cash for a Blood Order I will be happy with this. Your badge is a nice one.

Great photos...thanks. It is a simple badge but looks good...here's mine on my Orts tunic.

I've never been able to find any documentation that the Gau München badge has any relation to the BO, other than the fact that they both include the same quote (which was penned prior to either award being instituted). Because they were still worn after the creation of the BO, IMO they are less likely to have a relationship to the BO but more closely related to the other Gau badges, awarded for early membership or service at the discretion of the Gauleiter.
