I think the schulterklappe is Feuerschutzpolizei!.....
-
The top patch is NSFK-Flying Corps, possibly for the Sport's Shirt...
The 2nd patch is DLV-German Aviation Sport...
Shoulderboard is Fire Police/Feuerloesch-Polizei as Gunny mentioned above...
cheers, Glenn

Thanks to all for your help. Now to show how little I know about German items; what does NSFK & DLV mean?
-
None of us knew any of this stuff when first starting to study so if you don't know just ask!
The difference between novice and expert is mostly time!
Both these organisations were precursors / routes to the Luftwaffe in pre-war Nazi Germany and many of the LW top pilots passed through one or both or these organisations. They are both part of LW history. Because of the restrictions of the post WWI Treaty of Versailles they were the clandestine vehicles for the coming of the LW.
DLV = Deutsche Luft Verein or German Aero Sports Association. Was the earlier and was disolved and replaced by;
NSFK = Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps or Nation Socialist Flying Corps
Which was officially a kind of public company but under the control of Goering and his gang. Clever eh?
If you Google these you will find plenty of info.
Regards
Mark
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature with no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
