NSKK Crash helmet advice needed

Article about: Hi All, I just picked up this crash helmet, it is on the salty side with alot of wear and some areas of the ear flaps torn, but the price was about 1/3 of a decent one so I did not overpay b

    Nice work! The piece looks much better. For your information, the picture you posted of the sturzhelm in wear is that of a Motor SA man, not NSKK. The twisted cord collar piping indicates that this is a SA man.

    Thanks bob, my fingertips are now black but it came out nice, I will post a photo when I get it in a case with some other NSKK goodies.

    Great restoration Max.....looks great!! A dagger a sleeve eagle and a pennant would look great together.

    Thanks larry, a dagger would look nice, maybe in the future, or I can just spray paint my SA dagger scabbard black lol

    The helmet looks a lot better after the mild restoration. If I had seen this thread earlier I would have suggested you to check out The Kaisers Bunker. He has some very good articles on pickelhaube restoration that could apply to your crash helmet.
