Article about: Here's something that has arrived from one of our kind and esteemed board members who was exceedingly generous and even sent an original bag with it (also pictured below). For the forum arch

The one in the photo above would appear to be the Vogelsang cuff title. (But I'm looking at this on my phone right now. It's definitely a photo from Vogelsang, in any case.)

I also found this older thread with images of the Krössinsee and Sonthofen titles in wear:

Bruce at Grenadier Military Antiques has kindly granted permission to use the photo of the uniform he has for sale for the discussion here. This is the same one HPL2008 mentioned earlier. Bruce believes this is a period applied cufftitle, but adds this collecting area is a bit "nebulous". Perhaps it gives us something of an idea of what one would look like in use.

Here we can see the identical pattern in the Commemorative RAD Emsland...The RAD-connection to the Ordensburgen seems clear, as all young males were required to serve in the Arbeitsdienst, Ordenburgen Trainees no exception...
    cheers, Glenn

I always thought what was said in post 9 (and 11) and mentioned
by bicmacglenn, but maybe I must revise this thought. I did read
somewhere (if I do find again where this was published, I will

mid-December 1936 the first Ordensburg-Werkschar came into being.
Technical personnel from an Ordensburg were taken together in such
    Werkschar-unit (Stammmanschaft).
It would be quite normal to use a dark general cuffband with the dark
Werkschar-uniform. It is possible and plausible!

Just a small update on Avenger's post No.3. The Ordensburg Sonthofen is still used by the Bundeswehr, today the old building which still dominates Sonthofen's skyline has been incorporated into the General Beck Kaserne. Over the past few years a lot of money (believe €100 million) has been spent on the camp & Ordensburg, its been upgraded to the Bundeswehrs top R+R leisure camp. Hope later this year, when the Bundeswehr has a open day, to visit the place. Cheers
