A photo for Bob Coleman

Article about: Thought you may like this Bob. And others of course Quite a striking picture, although I'm not sure, looking at the watch, if it is period or not? But it does look nice

Hi John, the photos on that site are not period as such. They are very clever "photoshop" type compilations. He takes photos of original items and then merges them together to make the picture. The reason I know this is he approached me for permission to use some pictures of my stuff on the site Which I allowed. You can see some of my Soviet items there.

    Cheers, Ade.

So was the watch was left in as a deliberate non-contemporary inclusion, just in case someone tried to palm off the photo as original ?

Hi Guys, here is a link to the site:

Digger History; (ANZAC)* Australia & NZ at War, a history

It is a bit tricky to navigate, as there is so much stuff on there.

I am sure the watch was left there deliberatly. The same basic figure is used for all the reconstructions.

Was any living person awarded the German Order 3rd Class? I do not believe so.

Right; it is generally believed that the 3rd Class was not awarded.

That was the first thing I thought about when I saw the picture. It would also be unlikely that a political leader from the Kreis level would ever have been awarded such a prestigious award. Interesting picture though.
