RAD-tunics, global survey 1933-1945

Article about: I tried to create a sort of chronological survey about the development of the various, official tunics as worn by the males from the RAD during the period 1933 through 1943. For this I have

For reference in this thread. Pictures of a late war made RAD Officer Tunic - Oberstfeldmeister. Wilhelm did research on it for me and I bought recently. No late wartime pictures in wear found as of yet but we did find provenance and proof that a former RAD Soldier was able to testify that he did receive a coat just like this in 1944 before the war's end.

Do let me ride my hobby horse to the effect that we are really blessed with the superb knowledge Wim shares with us.

Contrast this thread to the 08/15, wholly normal query from someone unknown as to his or her fake cap, with the rejoinder that our knowledge somehow goes

    against a person's feelings etc.

The knowledge in this thread is magnificent and we are very grateful for the privilege to share in it.
Nicely said FB, a succinctly put point, which I second. Thanks to both Wim and FB for all the knowledge shared.

    Hello all,

How did RAD hangers attach to the tunic, do you know? Was it like an Army tunic that had an internal dagger clip?

From the organisationsbuch der nsdap 1943, it doesn't look like the normal Heer type of hanger, Gwar and Rossi seem to be the men for this though ...

    Hey William,

Hangers do not attach to the belt itself. They were typically worn through a slot in the hip pocket of the tunic and were either attached to an under belt on the trousers or to a clip attached to the tunic lining.

I'm sure you've done this already, William, but if not here's some pictures of the dagger in wear - hope this helps, somewhat .. ??

An interesting set of tunics shown below, appears to be short, two pocket jackets, work tunics with covered buttons?

Nothing in Organisationsbuch der NSDAP I could find, or any of Wims excellent references, they're marked and dated as Arbeitsdienst, 391/3, 1942/43, Mühlental.

    Hello Waldmann,
wonderful stuff, although not really my field of interest (apart from the Schneidermeister etc. magazines). When you scroll down here:

Die gebrochenen Schriften Fraktur, Schwabacher und Gotik

to Frakturschrift you'll see that it's Voß, Karl. B and V were very similar in Fraktur.
