Silver and blue enamel swastika tie pin - Info please!

(I don't know if this is the right place to post this thread or not)
I bought this tie pin several years ago for not a lot of money! Apparently it was brought back at the end of the war by a British soldier. On the back of the tie pin is 'STERLING' and a stamp/motiff that I can't decipher.
Is it German?
Does it relate to a particular service or is just a civilian made, shop bought item?
Any ideas?

British and most likely Victorian in date.

If British, wouldn't it have British hallmarks?

STERLING is more commonly found on American or Canadian silver.

The swaz, of course, is the pre-Nazi Indo-European symbol and quite posibly the piece is Victorian.

Hi Pat, you are most likely correct. Sterling is not often used on British items so it could well be North American.

There is also the possibility that it's Indian silver from India. I believe they stamped the word 'Sterling' on their export pieces from the early 20th century. This could also tie (no pun intended) in with the swastika symbol and its origins from that part of the world.
You could try and identify the mark adjacent to the Sterling stamp. That might help you identify it to North American Indian or Far Eastern Indian.
