SS tinnies are seldom encountered. A very nice interesting piece. Thanks for showing!

These are much reproduced.
Compare to this one which belongs to a friend of mine. I see several differences in the die detail.
Cheers, Ade.

Hi Guy's,
Chrys Alexander may have some knowledge re this tinnie and it's history.
It's certainly an interesting piece.
All the best
Dave
I know enough about SS tinnies to know to stay away! I read some time ago that a box of these were found in 1991 in Frankfurt...I assume that at some point they started reproducing these like everything else.
Where did you get this Temp?
Chrys
a guy gave it to me. it was a token of friendship. if it's fake, i can forgive that.
the example of Adrian's friend's there... taken with a nice camera and mine with a lame scanner a few hours ago... i see the apparent difference in detail. i see the relative softness. but the pin set up and looking at the thing in hand... dies are funny things wearing out as they do. and seeing mine in hand i don't know if i'm too concerned, but you guys tell me: fake? or what?
i'm not too uncomfortable with it. yet.
yeah. i just looked at it again. the details which are subdued because of my scanner are all there in hand.
for example you see those very small "hairs" coming off the tip of the spire tip to the left... in hand they show up in all there glory just like you see in Adrian's example. in the scanner pic i posted, you don't see them at all.
tomorrow i'll take some real pics with a camera and put it up again.
