Are these the early SA collar tabs?

Article about: These collar tabs were once for sale at Militaria 321. The description read they were SA tabs from the period before 1933. Is this true? If not what they are?

    Definitely not SA.

My gut feeling is early Bahnschutz, but I know too little about that subject to make a positive I.D.

I too can only confirm they are not SA.

Initially I was thinking Stalhelm due to the elongated shape, but they are not them either.

    Cheers, Ade.

To me they seem to be early Bahnschutz and their Streifendienst. Would not know
what other organization did use such oblong patches.
In a decree from October 27, 1933 (I Nr. B 4063/33) for the uniforms collar patches are noted as:
black collar-patches with a piping in the color for the state, with the number for the
Reichsbahndirektion (blue/white is for example for Bavaria). But I do not understand the 11, as this
    was normally Frankfurt/Main.
    Doctors did wear purple collar-patches.
Four pips is for Abteilungsführer and should be in yellowish material; three is for Zugführer.

One more interesting thing: the rank pips on the black tabs with blue-white Boarisch piping are on the right tab, instead of "normal" left side. I wonder why?

I have a photograph where the number is worn upon the left collar.
Maybe the two are not together as also the pips are included and
worn on the right side also. Maybe someone else is able to solve
    this "problem"?

I checked other photographs. On all on both sides the same is being worn. Occasionally one sees pips, but no number is being added. The three pips are diagonal. This is with Bahnschutz.
Maybe the collar-patches you have are no pairs, but singles and when they are pairs I am asking myself is it indeed Bahnschutz??
As said before: would not know another organization that did wear this oblong type with these pipings, pips and number!
