I believe the first is a WHW tinnie but the second, 'Deutsch Ist Die Saar', ( German is the Saar ) is regarding the Saar, a German area under French occupation post WW1 as part of the Treaty of Versailles. Clearly its reunification was high on the list of 'easy wins' for Hitler. I guess this badge was stirring up pro German sentiment ahead of the plebiscite of 1935 which sucessfully returned the Saar to German control.

The Saar was highly industrialised and rich in coal, so its return boosted Germany's industrial capacity. You could argue, hastening its re-militarisation.

I usually see this pin with a round amber coloured disc made of plastic
mounted behind the airplane. I think it may be for 'Luftsporthilft'
a donation related piece similar to WHW.

The other a 'Gau Tag' or 'Tag Der Arbeit' type tinnie.
    Regards,

    Steve.

It's a glider, not a bird, and it's a DLV (Deutscher Luftsportverband/German Air Sports Association) tinnie (T00-19). The DLV was the forerunner of the NSFK, and operated from 1933-37. The larger badge is a WHW-Gau 40 Westmark item (T100a), distributed on 26.8.34. Interestingly, the chairman of the DLV was Hermann Göring, and the deputy chairman was Ernst Röhm,
