I would really love some opinions on this pin, it is missing the back, but i am wondering if this is real or fake, it is for the Nederland div.

    hello newbie
that has nothing to do with SS or Nederland Division. It's an original but incomplete WHW tinnie from the youth hostel serie.

It looks like the same symbol used as the Nederland Div. , it is a HJ pin?

According to Zeller, it is a civilian 'Winter Helf Werk' or 'WHW' tinnie/badge
that is missing it's pin. These were sold to raise funds during the war
and there are a wide variety of styles and subjects. They were made
in glass, metal, cloth, wood, ceramic, plastic, and even leather
    - as yours looks to be.

It may well have been the Nederland Division runic logo as you state,
but these pins were never worn by them.

    Regards, Steve.

Hi, one small correction to my previous post: these tinnies are not related to DYH; the collection was produced in offenbach and leipzig and given on 1-2 February 1936. There were 5 different colours.

The wolfsangel was and still is a popular sign in northern Europe, it is also in the state shield of some german cities. No relationship with Nederland , although they adopted the same symbol.

Hi Matt, you also forgot it was made in Westerwald Newbies is number four (T033.4) in the collection of five. So it is definitely a fake Totenkopf/bogus SS pin, and broken to boot! And Newbie, there were 12,060,877 produced.
