    Default WW1 & WW2 train eagles

I thought I would show a couple of images of two train eagles, one from the First World War, and the other, a WW2 28 inch wingspan example.

A friend of mine owns the Imperial eagle, the WW2 example is mine.

I hope they are of some interest.

    Best wishes

Thanks Ade, it was a new one for me too, as far as I know (and excuse my probably incorrect spelling) but the
initials may stand for Koenigs Preusisches Eisenbahn Vereinegen, or the Kaisers Prussian Railway Company, but that is
just a guess, I don't know much about the Imperial stuff.

"I hope they are of some interest" he says!

Only an example of one of the most iconic and dare I say it 'cool' looking pieces of TR paraphernalia available. Well done and thank you!

Thanks guys, I believe Roger Bender is putting out a book on train eagles some time this year, that should be an interesting read,
and I am fairly sure the author is Wim Saris, so one of the best and most knowledgeable on the subject too.

I thought about my translation after I signed off last night too, and the ' K ' would probably be Kaiserliche and not Koenigs !!

    Cheers

So much for guessing with the 'KPEV' meant, I was way off beam, and Wim Saris has sent me the proper translation of the initials,
and this eagle is quite an early one apparently, from around 1900 or so, and the KPEV is:- Königliche Preussische Eisenbahnverwaltung.

    Many thanks Wim
