any pictures of the inside?
Some sort of sample or maybe a kids hat at best? Looks like somebody just stuck a pin on it to be cute. William

SA kepi in miniature.........!
This is actually a box for a set of cufflinks. They belonged to S A Scharfuhrer Franz Unsinn. Unsinn joined the S A 11 March, 1932 and the NSDAP on 1 December, 1932. He was the driver to the Adjutant to the Stabschef at the OSAF, the High Command of the S A. The cuff links were a gift from his boss.
Unsinn remained in Munich in his position throughout the war. It was part of a document group which included his Party membership book, S A ausweiss and a war era permit allowing him to carry a pistol. More to be posted later.

Very intresting piece Bob I would have never guessed it was a decortive case for cufflinks The Ausweiss is a very nice piece as well early dated to 1934 I see .

Always on the look out for WW II Canadian Helmets and Cam nets to add to my collection.
Found a Canadian Mk II Medics Helmet and yes I know they are about as rare as hens teeth !!!!!
wow!! thats some inside !!
A very interesting, unusual item that definately catches some attention even among collectors who thought they've seen it all. I would have never guessed it either.
Looking forward to hearing more about this "Scharführer Nonsense" (Unsinn = nonsense).
