    Default 2 German Armbands

I inherited my collection of WW2 memorabilia about 5 years ago (some items earlier) from my grandfather. Each piece was directly brought back to the U.S. by my grandfather, at the end of the war.

These are two armbands that my grandfather brought back. I think the one with the gold is an SA armband, but I'm not sure. The tag is inside the gold one. The other one does not have an inside tag. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Gaines

Hi Gaines, two good original armbands. (But you already knew that!) You are correct in your ID of them. The SA one is a sports armband. The other the standard NSDAP armband worn by a variety of Nazi Party formations. But your particular example was worn by the WW1 Vets association. Note the ink stamp for the Kyffhauserbund.

    Cheers, Ade.

Hi Nick, really? These have featured on the forum a fair bit.

They were found in quantity at the end of the war in unissued condition. There is some doubt that this actual pattern was actually used. No photos of it in wear have ever come to light to my knowledge.

    Cheers, Ade.
