Hi guys. I picked this up today in a large group of TR items. Anyone familiar with it?
Yeah... I was having trouble figuring it out. Anyone?
It's one of several identification armbands worn by naval personnel of the Kriegsmarine [Navy] employed in the navy's own Luftschutzdienst [air-defense service].
This one was for personnel assigned to the Havariedienst [ship damage service].

Oh, yeah... popeye's anchor was tattooed on his forearms

I have the same one, there must not have been many of these made because this is only the second one that I have seen
They are not extremely rare as I have at one time or another had three of them. Of course, I have been at this a lot more years than you have.
