Armband Opinions?

Hi all
I picked this up at a local antique store about a year ago with a small party flag. I have been told everything from fake to civilian made period piece. The cloth does seem to be very old and if it is a more modern fake I wonder why they even bothered, it is horribly constructed. Any comments much appreciated.

This is not a recognized pattern for any 3rd Reich armband. As a German collectible, it must be considered an aged fantasy design,

These have shown up at a lot of gun auction sites sold as originals; and sadly I agree with Mr. Coleman. It's a fantasy item or 4th reich as some say.
The diamond shape makes me think someone wanted to make a HJ armband or something like it.
