    I got a signed book from Thomas, but can't remember anymore that particular photograph.
    I do not have the book anymore. This happens when one lends out!

    The photo in the Shutt book is of a hat that was in his collection (not a period pic). I can scan it if you would like--but as it is in black and white, it looks like any other doorman's cap.

    Some more information to the guy from post 17.
    He is a person with the function Oberpförtner.

    He does wear the cap according the June 1937 description with the twisted, black silk cords and the collar insignia accordingly:
    the civil insignia (Zivilabzeichen für Angestellte und Arbeiter der Luftwaffe) with a star above and below, directly onto the wine-red collar.
    The civil insignia however is the second form as introduced in the fall of 1937. The first form remained worn with the cap in its large form.
