Suspected Armband Fakes

Agreed that these look bad. I believe that some civilian armbands did have stamps. The stamps did serve a purpose such as returning the armband back to a particular district headquarters and such. However, these bands are pretty bad with some well known fakes such as the Luft and SS bands.

Was there a particular time period that these stamps were used as oppossed to paper labels ? Early versions ?

I believe the paper tags were more a question of being issued/accepted by the RZM. The stamps were used by the districts when they issued the armbands to their personel.
The stamps have the name of the city/town where the armband was issued.
The two (stamp and tag) are not related. Hope that helps a little!

you may of heard this from old time collectors who are either nieave or pre internet, there are more who think a printed stamp on the FRONT is bad than think its a period peice. but each to there own delusion i suppose

The printed stamps, on original armbands, denote the ownership by the unit designated on the stamp. These items were issued out and had to be returned to the unit.

There is no doubt stamped armbands were used, during the period from 1925 to 1933, with the great possibility of their use post 1933.

Armbands that were purchased and owned by their wearers would have not had the property stamps.

are there any period photos with these stamps on in use/being worn?, i find it totally incomprehenable that any unit would stamp an armband on the outside, its a urban myth to me, unbeleivable, just my 2 bob

is there any truth, or legisation that states this? im not being arguementitive, just curious as to how this practice has become accepted: fact ,as ade stated ?confused:
