    Hi everyone,

Received this M1/14 opaque enamel party pin yesterday. It has a dark red enamel, just like it's transp. stippled brothers. When I compared it with another opaque enamel pin of my collection (M1/163), I noticed this one was more light red in colour. Has anyone noticed this before? Are there other makers using a light red solid enamel?Dark red versus light redDark red versus light redDark red versus light red

Interesting Wim. Could it be sun fading ?

I don't think so, Nick. I think Franz Schmidt used a lighter colour of enamel and I wonder if there are more...

Here are the opaque badges from my collection. Separately, they appear red, together none are the same color. Some hue of orange and red are represented. M1/163, 157, 105, and 63 are shown below, in that order.

Thanks for posting, Green. Now it's quite obvious. I never payed attention to it untill I bought my second opaque enamel party pin.
It seems that M1/163 has the most orange colour of them all.

Red/orange, black and white...such an appealing colour combination!
