Sven, I use the word belt collectively so both the belt and buckle are are original. As to the date the first buckle and belt is hard, there are no date markings on it so as these were actually made post war as well its hard to say actually when it was made. The second one you can say is period and made in 1938. If both found together and they belonged to the same chap then one could say that the first one is period WW2 also. Hope all that makes sense
