New Deutsche Rote Kreuz DRK Officer/Leader's Buckle

Article about: Hey Ben. Cool...thanks for that If Peter is correct that would make sense since we see some HJ's with mold/die numbers. Now if we could only figure out whose it was!!

Default New Deutsche Rote Kreuz DRK Officer/Leader's Buckle

    Hello All,

Here is a new piece I just purchased for my collection...a first officer's buckle of any type for me It is my understanding that this buckle was worn by staff ranking from "DRK-Wachtführer" up to "DRK Oberstführer." Being a buckle as well as DRK collector I must confess I am a just bit embarassed to admit that I am not clear on the maker here. These DRK buckles seem either to be marked "Ges. Gesch. 2" (which I believe is Overhoff) and then also perhaps less commonly "Ges. Gesch. 1" Can anyone confirm that Ges. Gesch. 1 is for maker Ferdinand Hoffstätter, Bonn a. Rhein?

Any comments and help most welcome and appreciated!

    Best,
    Adam

Thanks for the replies and comments, guys. Really happy with this one...can't wait to get it in hand and post my own photos These are getting expensive but can still be found reasonably priced... I will disclose that this minty example was $350 USD from a dealer. The fakes of these are also getting very good. Can anyone confirm the makers for "Ges. Gesch. 1" and "Ges. Gesch 2"?

    Best,
    Adam

    Hello Adam,

you thakes the marker out of M4 list .

There not Overhoff marks 2 !

In my Opinion it can also be , that Ges.Gesch. 1 is overhoff from another production batch ???????

I wonder that neverone can explain that .

I ask this question in any forums and never became a answer .
    Regards ,
    Markus

Adam, could Ges Gesch 1 be F Hofstatter? Something that I read some where!

Thanks again for all the replies. Here are my own images of the buckle which is now safely and satisfyingly in hand. Ben, Hoffstätter was my initial thought for Ges. Gesch. 1...but only because I had read it a while back on a dealer's site! I wish we could all get a definitive maker ID on these!!

Adam, I have emailed Peter Nash on this and in his reply he was saying that the number after the Ges Geasch refers to the die used to make the buckle.
