Unfortunately, there is no provenance. Came from dealer, that's make "situation" even worse There is one more opinion has come from the person with no idea about Buckles but really well with medals and badges. According to Him, insignia had been done to be fixed to this exact type of buckles and this buckle's body had not had another on it. Gilding is fine all the way.

Alex, sorry I cannot help you but I never collected Officer buckles and dont know much about them (apart from SS)
