Dropped my Red Star today , Damaged , repair help ?

Can't belive I did this today . It was in undamaged condition ......

Any tips on self repair/replacement of the red enamel ?

Ouch, I feel your pain. Did the enamel break of in large pieces, or shatter? and were you able to recover all the pieces?

enamel is super hard to put back together, time for another.

Can't believe I did it !
It broke apart in very very small pieces .

I would like to do a restore project on it . I will have to remove all the remaining enamel first , then source a good colour match . Might not be enamel , but will look the same .

Has anyone done it before ?

I think a quality jeweller would be your best bet. A DIY repair will always look hokey IMO.

That's a sickening thing to happen. Its strange to think of that star having survived so many years and god knows what and then to be damaged in such unlikely circumstances.

I would hesitate about removing the remaining enamel, if there is any chance at all that the damaged parts can be restored. Its always best to keep as much of the original as possible.

Glenn's suggestion about contacting a jeweller with experience of enameling seems good to me.

It can be repaired Enamel Restoration - Jewellery and Fine Objects but i get the feeling it might be expensive!...
