I think it's been renumbered on the back Dave. I don't like the wear pattern on the back plus i think its been cleaned. I also thought the screw post arrangement was different for these early awards as well but don't take my word for that
Cheers
Jason
No, it's not the real deal. It seems to be a late-war Red Star (possibly MZPP?) with the reverse sandblasted, fake screwpost base added (possibly even the entire screwpost) and fake serial number applied.
Ive just compare it to my high number award and yours seems to be missing some detail on the writing to the reverse also the enemal seems very dull. Although im just comparing the two.
cheers

Have a look at this page Dave and the two previous, it may help I.D. your piece.

'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.
We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.

Ruined a perfectly good MZPP variation for the sake of greed, sigh. . .
Here is what the number, screw post, and mint mark should look like. . .
Thanks fella's for your opinions and comparisons, appreciated as always.Cheers also for the link Ned most useful.
I will steer clear of this one.
Thanks again Fellas
All the best
