My lowest numbered Order of the Red Star: 681736

Hi Guys, this is a new buy which I bought from a friend this past weekend.

It is my only Order of the Red Star numbered under one million. Serial number is 681736. It would have been awarded in 1944. As you can see the condition is nice with a good screwback plate.

You must be very happy with that Ade eh? Such a lush, deep ruby red. Sub 1M is the really dangerous part of collecting Krasnaya's for me, they are nearly all guaranteed to have a wonderful tale to tell ( I forget the number of the first long service award, was it 820k?)

Thanks for the kind comments Guys. I was pleased to get this one. It belonged to one friend of mine who sold it to another friend and now it has finally come to me. And it ain't going nowhere now

As posted elsewhere, 681974, a mere 238 numbers away, and with similar characteristics, dimple on the reverse, & flared edges on the obverse, but a lot more wear. . .
