Short, concrete description of his combat feat or merits:

Serving as the adjutant, comrade Mukhin showed himself a cultured and courteous officer. A distinguished specialist in vehicles, comrade Mukhin was given orders by the corps commander to re-arrange the corps headquarters’ motor transport system.

With the conscientiousness peculiar to him, comrade Mukhin energetically set about re-arranging and putting in order the transport system. Neither possessing a centralized stock of spare parts, nor receiving any, comrade Mukhin literally worked days on end to gather spare parts from dumped vehicles.

Thanks to these measures and his great deal of labor-intensive efforts, comrade Mukhin was able to repair 3 trucks. Through his efforts 3 vehicle engines were restored.

He imposed fine military order in the corps headquarters’ garage and, in accordance with his orders’ demands, he established a strict order for using the transport vehicles.

Between June and September the corps headquarters’ garage processed approximately 65 tons of fuel. Comrade Mukhin’s transport system enabled the headquarters to be relocated 4 times.

He is an exemplary officer, serving in the important field that enables the corps to conduct its combat activities, working while the headquarters are being relocated, and ensuring the corps’ everyday duties.

Comrade Mukhin deserves to be awarded the Order of the Red Star.

Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment

While serving as a dispatcher during the 1st Ukrainian Front’s offensive operation January to May, 1945, Comrade Mukhin proved himself a motivated, steadfast, energetic, and bold soldier.

Comrade Mukhin was systematically positioned in forward locations and accomplished the Corps’ HQ missions in communicating with ground units. He accomplished all his missions accurately and in a timely manner. During this period Mukhin supported as many as 4.5 thousand combat sorties. All combat sorties were guaranteed by the country’s air defense forces for safe passage in a timely manner. Comrade Mukhin employed energetic measures to search for aircraft and crews not returning from combat missions, employing the country’s air defense and other sources, resulting in his always having the exact location of aircraft.

Additionally during this period Mukhin supported as many as six thousand air sorties, both from our units, other units, and training flights. All combat sorties and transiting aircraft were ensured of accurate flight data from the country’s air defense and supplied with full information from airfield to airfield and in the course of all flights and transfers. During a period of the Corps’ frequent airbase moves and while remaining at one of the Corps’ old positions, Mukhin alone without shift replacement and rest, supported the Corps’ combat activities and transit of the Red Army’s air forces.

While accomplishing the Corps commander’s missions, he also repaired broken down vehicles, thus supporting the Corps’ relocation to new airfields.

Conclusion: For his major contributions, he is deserving of the Order of the Patriotic War II Class.
