Short, concrete description of his combat feat or merits:
Comrade Bakin is a highly disciplined, exemplary, and strong-willed commander, dedicated to our motherland, and he is considered an authority among the men of the battalion. During preceding tasks comrade Bakin inspired the soldiers assigned to him by personal example, both during the reparation and destruction of railroad lines. He systematically carried out his tasks ahead of time. His work on railroad tracks was of excellent quality. Carrying out his orders in difficult circumstances and under enemy artillery fire, comrade Bakin showed himself a fearless commander, efficiently and skillfully organizing the work.
During the construction of a railroad line at Shlisselburg Station, comrade Bakin organized the teams so skillfully and cleverly, giving orders to each and every soldier, that all units achieved a high productivity throughout their duties, exceding their set goals by 20-40 percent on a daily basis. During separate types of work, for example, during the cladding of railroad tracks, the teams exceeded the norms by 85 percent.
Comrade N.A. Bakin deserves the Order of the Red Star.

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
