Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment
He displayed bravery and valor during offensive fighting to penetrate the heavily defended German line near Bozhuv-Gorokhu beginning 13.07.44. During the battalion’s entire offensive Comrade Chakhardashvili’s platoon followed the battalion’s supply of hot food and ammunition, disregarding the impact of enemy fire. On 19.07.44 when Comrade Chakhardashvili received information that the battalion had exhausted its ammunition, he personally forced a fording site on the Western Bug river under heavy enemy fire and delivered ammunition to the far shore of the river.
For selfless duty, for the supply of the battalion with ammunition and food, and for displayed bravery and valor in offensive fighting against the German invaders, he is deserving of the Order of the Red Star.
Signed Regimental Commander Lieutenant Colonel Zhulikhin and Chief of Staff Akimov on 31st July, 1944
