Short, concrete description of his combat feat or merits:

Captain-Engineer V.A. Engovatov has been heading the aircraft engine repair team of the mobile field aircraft workshop and leads all crews repairing aircraft. He takes initiative, he is technically competent, and he considerately trains the cadres of specialist repairmen. He skillfully organizes the repairs of combat aircraft and the placement of his repairmen.

When the mobile field aircraft workshop arrived at the front in May of this year and during the relocation to Stary Oskol in July of this year, Captain-Engineer Engovatov did not waste time and on the very next day had his repairmen start working on repairing aircraft.

During the period of combat operations Captain-Engineer Engovatov mobilized his men to repair damaged aircraft close to the front line and in the vicinity of aerial battles with enemy aircraft, thus ensuring that the aircraft were put back into service within a reduced amount of time.

Between May 15 and July 15 the team led by Captain-Engineer Engovatov conducted various kinds of repairs on 84 aircraft, belonging to the 8th Ground-Attack Aviation Division, thereby exceeding the monthly aircraft repair goals by 60 to 80 percent.

Comrade Engovatov has not spent time in captivity or in occupied territory. He is currently with his unit.

For his selfless in efforts in repairing combat aircraft at the front during the fighting with the German invaders and displaying valor and bravery in the process, he deserves the Order of the Red Star.
