Thank you, gentlemen, and yes, as has been discussed elsewhere on this sub-forum, http://www.warrelics.eu/forum/order-...32682-a-26315/, this Red Star is an example of the many that were awarded long after World War II to surviving veterans, many of them permanently disabled, as was the case here, for their wounds, and having been previously awarded a Red Star but had not received it. I have one in the collection that was awarded in 1945, but not received until 1992, #3836254, two years after the collapse of the Soviet Union, but I digress. . .

There are a number of sources to help collectors identify an Order of the Red Star and their seemingly infinite varieties, not the least of which is the consummate reference by Strekalov & Durov, with a lot of help from Alex Filer, who, incidentailly has a site discussing the infinite variations of the Red Star, Odysseus -- Soviet Screwback Orders. Both have formulated systems of categorization and classification of the various types and variations of the Order of the Red Star.

Research and translation of archival material, such as Award Card, Citation, Service Record, and so on is available from many forum members who regularly contribute on this sub-forum.
