Hi ,
Looks good to me. MZPP late 1945
An "MZPP" variant probably awarded early to mid 1945 per Schmitt, "the Green Bible". . . I believe they represent only 10% of all Red Stars minted, and they characteristically have the sloppy serial number engraving you see on yours and the others I have posted here for comparison,
10% of all red stars? It seems like sellers are not familiar with varieties where I live I got this for about $35. I am actually not collecting red stars (but I'm in a close branch: collecting Russian coins for almost 15 years). I bought this from my local coin dealer as a "replacement" for my grandpa's missing red star. He was awarded in 1947 for WWII but unfortunately his star was later lost/stolen. I wonder why they didn't request for a duplicate. Anyways, since this star is original I'll place it next to his other orders and medals
